On behalf of a specialist contractor who, as part of their wider business deliver Passive Fire Protection Services, we are keen to speak with FIRAS accredited and Fire Protection professionals for the Head of Department position based at the Head office in Lincolnshire.
This GBPmulti–million construction group offering special Passive Fire Protection Services is recruting for a Head of Department. The role would suit a highly motivated individual who has already held senior positions within the sector and is able to manage projects from pre–contract stage through to completion.
Reporting to the Company Director, duties will include:
* Managing and Carrying out Technical Quality Assurance audits to ensure management systems remain compliant
* Constant review of technical data from suppliers to ensure materials meet the requirements of both British & European standards.
* Provide clear and consistent feedback to Contracts Managers & Supervisors within agreed timescales.
* Liaise with site Managers / Sub contractors and clients to ensure they are kept up to date with the external accreditation requirements.
* Interpret technical drawings and written instructions for use when inspecting works.
* Accurately maintain and manage all relevant records and databases relating to work processed
* Assist with accreditation audits e.g. FIRAS.
* Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Quality Assurance process.
* Co–ordinate and organise works on new and existing projects up to GBP250k
* Ability to plan and prioritise workloads with a structured approach.
* Have a strong level of commercial awareness and the ability to plan and deliver projects to budget
* Clear communicator able to manage relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
* Identify business development and work winning opportunities
The successful candidate:
* Will be able to demonstrate experience of having been successful in a similar role within Passive Fire Protection, or be ready to take the next step
* Have third party accreditation such as FIRAS
* Be familiar with current legislation and imminent changes
* Be a competent manager of people, processes and construction
* Be able to report on the financial position of projects
* IT literate with MS Office
