The Client

An opportunity has arisen with our client, an established consultancy for an individual to head up an existing geo–environmental division.

Our client is a multi disciplinary environmental consultancy comprising a number of established service lines. Numbering just over 250 staff and operating from numerous locations throughout the UK, the organisation is growing aggressively by acquisition, having recently completed their second organisational purchase in the last year.

Known for delivering brownfield solutions, they have also acquired functioning divisions and client bases with a history of delivering EIA, acoustics, sustainability, environmental due diligence and ecology. Clients are distributed between infrastructure from large rail projects through to development and manufacturing sites, they have a strong network of partner and client relationships, a variety of interesting case studies and have received numerous awards.

As a privately funded organisation, they are not subject to investor control and demands and have an aggressive business plan to expand their existing service lines, both within the UK and also into Europe within the next few years.

The Role

Forming part of the Operational Board and reporting directly to the management board, the successful individual will be provided with full control of the environmental division, much of which is EIA geared around acoustics and air quality. Freedom to define a strategic growth plan, Full P&L and the ability to make important decisions will be met with an expectation of being provided with the resources to grow the division in line with this plan, it is noted that the internal processes and existing clients are currently being serviced and new projects are being tendered for currently.

An EMI equity package will be provided for the right individual together with a healthy package which befits the role. The current business plan allows for 5 years of growth at which point, the organisation will be offered up for an MBO or acquisition, at which point the equity would be realised.

The Individual

UK based, with a working knowledge of the UK market, the successful individual would have developed a business delivering air quality and or environmental acoustics or associated service lines into the market and will have the enthusiasm to take on this role.

It is noted that full autonomy will be given for this role, so having this confidence and enthusiasm will be highly valued.
