About Us

May Walters is a boutique search consultancy specialising in senior positions within the environmental sector.

The Client

Our client is one of the fastest growing second tier consultancies within Europe, with around 50 offices throughout Europe and the emerging economies. Having recently undergone a favourable acquisition, which provides them with heavyweight resources and international reach, they are capitalising on their existing business within the UK by cementing their existing clients in addition to engaging larger prestigious projects.

With a varied offering from planning, through environmental to a well established ecology team operating nationally, our clients is now looking to appoint a senior technical specialist who can help to shape their natural capital, biodiversity and net gain provision.

Reporting directly to the Environmental Board, this role is of key importance in shaping the organisations offering and approach towards strategic projects moving forward.

The Role

Based anywhere in the UK and operating from one of the numerous offices, the successful individual will report directly to the environmental board and form part of the senior environmental management team, working alongside heads of division.

As a technical lead for natural capital, the role would encompass defining the strategy for engagement for natural capital, biodiversity and net gain, working with clients and heads of division / project directors to influence delivery of projects. In addition, keeping abreast of the rapidly developing natural capital industry and educating staff and partners internally and externally on relevant developments, delivered both informally and via workshops would form part of the role.

Regarded as a highly important position in an organisation where the environmental division carries a huge kudos, this would be a key role in helping our client to transition effectively at an interesting time in their growth.

The Individual

UK based, having delivered projects within the UK, the successful individual would have a working knowledge of natural capital, biodiversity or net gain.

Equally, senior individuals who have a track record of delivering EIA or ecological services into infrastructure or framework projects would be considered, but regardless of background an enquiring mind and enthusiasm to develop and deliver knowledge in this fast moving area would be paramount.
