Costs Draftsperson/Lawyer
We are looking for an experienced Costs Draftsperson or Costs Lawyer with a proven and demonstrable legal career in costs with experience dealing with all value of claims. Experience of commercial and clinical negligence claims would also be useful.
Very flexible working hours to assist in a suitable work/home balance are also on offer and as role your location to the office is also not a barrier to being suitable for this position.
Costs Draftsperson – The Role
* The successful candidate will be expected to provide dedicated costs support for litigation lawyers across several UK offices in the Health sector.
* Responsible for the management of a varied caseload the individual will be reviewing bills of costs, drafting points of dispute, negotiating costs to settlement and some advocacy.
* The role involves dealing predominantly with adverse costs claims on multi track matters.
* This role requires a self–starter with the confidence to work autonomously, working on files from start to finish.

Costs Draftsperson – The Candidate
Essential Requirements
* Experience working as a Costs Draftsperson handling your own caseload
* Experience of drafting points of dispute
* IT literate, particularly Excel, to include knowledge of using Costsmaster
* Up to date knowledge of the CPR and legislation
* Management of own caseload
* Excellent communication, organisation and research skills
* Adherence to guidelines and procedures
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* A flexible approach to work
* Ability to work as a team and independently
Desirable
* Experience of commercial and/or clinical negligence costs
* Experience of bill drafting
* Experience of drafting points of reply, costs budgets and bills of costs
