Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our team based in Cheltenham or the option to work remotely is also available. In this role you will apply business analysis disciplines and business focus to improve the outcomes of the Data Futures programme – delivering the vision for a modernised and more efficient approach to collecting data from the higher education sector. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, will receive a highly competitive salary of circa GBP40,000 per annum depending on experience.

Responsibilities of our Business Analyst:

– Working closely with the Scrum Teams and the wider business and stakeholders to determine and refine business, systems, data, and technology requirements

– Analysing and document "as is" end to end business processes and systems usage and develop "to be" processes and systems to improve business performance and reduce cost

– Define and document change requirements conducting detailed analysis to produce business requirement documentation, operational specifications, user stories and product backlog items

– Designing, specify and produce detailed output documentation (e.g., process diagrams and reports)

– Organising and run workshops, walk–throughs, and reviews with internal and external stakeholders

– Conducting feasibility studies, contribute to business cases and perform impact analysis on business change requests

What we're looking for in our Business Analyst:

– Educated to degree level or have equivalent work–based experience

– Heavy exposure to and experience of process re–engineering and end–to–end process improvement projects

– Experience working on agile/scrum transformation projects

– Be able to communicate and collaborate at all levels

– Ability to build strong working relationships

– Ability to interpret data accurately, strong influencing skills and ability to assimilate new information quickly are highly desirable as is confidence in using MS Visio & MS Office suite

What can we offer you as our Business Analyst?

The salary range for this post is circa GBP40,000k dependant on skills and experience. We offer an attractive package with initially 25 days leave, increasing to 30 days, plus bank holidays and extra Agency shutdown at Christmas; flexible working including remote and home working options; pension scheme and occupational health support.
