Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire, are actively seeking an experienced professional to lead their Cost Estimation department as a Head of Programme Cost Estimation on a permanent basis.

A hugely important role, you will manage and lead a team of Cost Estimators – shaping the strategy of the Cost Estimating department with the objective of having a 'Should Cost' for all aspects of Product creation, from Investment through to piece price.

On offer to the successful candidate is a negotiable (albeit dependent on relevant experience) basic salary, together with a full flexible benefits package, to include a Management Lease Car and Bonus.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

?? Responsible for 'Should Cost' of all programmes – Investment & Piece Price.

?? Work with the Chief Engineers to provide full visibility of 'Should Cost' vs 'Current Cost' for their respective areas.

?? Work with the programme team to define Should Cost requirements in terms of timing and substance through the development cycle.

?? Support the creation of overall should cost process and integrate into the product development process.

?? Manage the team of Cost Estimators, providing a clear vision and direction.

?? Understand the 'Should Cost' of current cars in production. Work with the team to develop a road map to close where gaps exist.

?? Strive for continual improvement on all derivatives.

?? Provide supporting data for Gateway deliverables.

?? Support Procurement in their negotiations with suppliers.

?? Provide 'Value for Money' calculations to support negotiations.

?? Team to understand all detail bottom–up cost across Investment and Bill of Material, to include and not limited to, base material cost, hours & labour, overhead. requirement. Including Development and maintenance of QAF rates.

?? Own 'Should Cost Templates' for programmes.

?? Ensure coordination of timely responses and approvals.

?? Guiding or influencing component design and advising on supplier processes for cost efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience ideally required:

?? Should ideally be educated to Degree level, although lesser qualifications, but plenty of relevant experience might be considered.

?? You will be an experienced "bottom–up" Cost Estimator / Cost Engineer with ideally a strong Automotive manufacturing background.

?? You will need to combine these strong Cost Estimation skills with strong Management experience.

?? You should ideally have OEM experience of working with a BOM.

?? Additionally, you should ideally have OEM experience of working in a Product Creation environment.

?? You will have detailed costing analysis skills.

?? You will have strong negotiation and relationship building experience.

?? You should be of technical mind–set.
