A Business Analyst with Requirements engineering, stakeholder management, gap analysis, and business process mapping, is required to work on a six month contract (WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION) for our Defence client based in Bristol.
This is a contract within the Naval Sector
Overview of the Business Analyst contract role
Would you like to make an impact in a growing Information Technology products team within one of the UK's Largest Defence Companies? We have an opportunity for a security cleared Business Analyst to be based at our customer's site in Bristol, who will take on a key role in the account management team. Note: due to current Covid restrictions successful candidate can operate mainly from a home location.
As a Business Analyst you will liaise with external Customer and internal Business Areas to understand their business and Information Technology needs and to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements. As you will be expected to support the client in the identification of their needs, involving the definition of business and technical requirements with clear and concise Acceptance Criteria.
You will also be required to support the development of a business case in order to justify investment and ensure any risks, dependencies, and assumptions are considered. This role is part of an exciting and growing digital services product team and will give you the opportunity to develop your skills as well as give you exposure across the wider Business.
Responsibilities of the Business Analyst contract role
Production of configuration managed documentation in support of business analysis activities including meticulous analysis and comprehensive documentation of functional, non–functional, and user requirements.
Assist business functions to develop business process models, ensuring alignment of business and information technology system solutions, including translation of business knowledge into workable specifications and communication of them to technical team members.
Analyse the impact of changes to existing systems and the addition of new systems on the information solution environment, related devices, processes, procedures, end users, and data.
Be an integral part of the customer acceptance activities, working closely with test and release functions to ensure that solution acceptance criteria are met.
Be the primary point of contact and communication between the business and the customer.
Key skills required for the Business Analyst
Experience in the Business Analysis discipline, including but not limited to Requirements engineering, stakeholder management, gap analysis, business process mapping, and benefits realisation.
Experience in the Agile Product Owner discipline and a working knowledge of the agile methodology.
Experience of Project Management principles and methodologies aligned to a Product Life Cycle Process.
Experience working in cross–functional teams.
Experience working with technical software teams, including design, development, and test.
The role is based in Bristol – commutable from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Worcester, Cirencester, Swindon, Devizes, Trowbridge, Bath, Taunton, Bridgwater, Weston–Super–Mare, Newport and Cardiff
