Interim Group Financial Controller
Ignata Finance Group have been exclusively engaged by our client, a global, diverse consumer brands business based in Kent to recruit a Group Financial Controller on an interim basis. You will be joining the business for 3-6months and supporting the Chief Financial Officer.
You be responsible for managing a small team and be a key member of the finance leadership team. The ideal candidate will have experience and resilience in running an accounting function for a medium enterprise.
You will be a qualified accountant with several years of experience and comfortable with financial reporting, cash flow management, technical accounting, as well as management accounting. You should have previous experience of managing an audit process and the preparation of financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactive management of the finance team, ensuring appropriate structures are in place to drive continuous improvement, best practice and efficiency.
Responsible for ensuring the accounting policies of the business are applied in accordance with UKGAAP and that the financial results are delivered in a timely and accurate fashion.
Ensure that all financial controls are maintained at the highest levels together with underlying policies, processes and accounting systems.
Ensure the balance sheet is fully reconciled monthly.
Manage all management and statutory financial reporting.
Responsible for all aspects of cash management including daily tracking of group cash position, monthly cash flow forecasting and maintaining banking relationships.
Skills and experience required:
Qualified accountant with a strong technical background
Strong communicator, both verbally and in presenting financial information.
Experience in a hands on controller role, and happy to get into the detail
Highly numerate with ability to absorb complexity quickly and identify effective solutions.
Confident leader knows how to manage and optimise a team, high emotional intelligence.
Able to progress and grow with the business.
This role will be paid as a day rate of £400-£500 depending on experience, and we would be looking for someone to start in August. You would be able to work remotely for the majority for time but travel to the Kent office will be required.
