The National Youth Agency is at an exciting point in their development and this is a vital new role created to lead and create transformational change within the NYA and the youth sector in relation to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

We are a profession built upon anti–oppressive and anti–discriminatory practice, yet we have much to learn and do. Research from and amplification of the voices of youth workers in our sector tells us that there is a need for systemic and structural change. As the Professional Statutory Regulatory Body for Youth Work, the NYA is seeking a leader to drive this agenda forward in an inclusive manner.

We are seeking an exceptional individual with proven leadership skills and vision, with a record of driving and delivering impactful cultural change. The successful candidate will have high levels of emotional intelligence, a naturally collaborative approach, and deep insight into the challenges and opportunities of the equality and diversity landscape in the youth sector.

The successful candidate will not know all the answers, but will have the skills, intuition and experience to bring together experts by experience, leaders, policy makers and practitioners to plan for and create sustainable change for fairness and equality.

NYA holds a unique position within the youth sector. We are the national body for youth work, and the Professional Statutory Regulatory Body (PSRB) for youth work in England. We are the cornerstone of a great profession and we have been transforming lives through youth work for over 50 years. We strive every day to champion, professionalise and enable great youth work, driving up the quality and quantity of safe and impactful practice.

If you are as motivated and committed to driving youth work excellence across the youth sector as we are then we would love to hear from you.

We are committed to inclusivity and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. To reflect the communities we serve, we strive to bring different backgrounds, cultures, age, experience and identity to enrich our insights and power the work we do together.

We welcome applications from groups currently under–represented in our organisation including Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.
