We are delighted to be partnered with Dolphin Living on their recruitment for a new Financial Controller. Dolphin Living pride themselves in providing high quality affordable rental homes throughout London for working Londoners on modest incomes. They currently own 800 homes with a further 300 homes recently submitted for planning approval. So far, they have developments in nine London boroughs, and aim to continue to work throughout inner London and accessible, well–connected areas of Greater London.

The Financial Controller will be critical in implementing the financial and support systems to facilitate exemplary financial management of all assets and liabilities of the Group and ensuring strong internal control. This includes recording and reporting of all accounting associated with those assets and liabilities.

Day to day duties:

Manage and maintain Dolphin Square Foundation and subsidiary entities financial books and records
Prepare and manage overhead, development and property management budgets
Lead on preparation and delivery of management accounts measuring and analysing financial performance
Prepare group and individual entity statutory accounts for audit. Lead, plan and manage audit process
Prepare and submit HMRC returns
Prepare monthly management accounts for review by the Finance Director, CEO and quarterly accounts for the Board
Prepare report for the Finance Director and CEO, to bring to the Board and subcommittees on all financial matters
Develop and implement effective financial controls and authorisation procedures in response to the changing needs of the businesses and external environment.
Work with the team to ensure that office costs are accurately budgeted for and costs are taken into account in cash flow predictions
Prepare annual accounts for audit for each subsidiary and consolidated accounts for the Foundation ensuring each receives a clean audit report
Maintain an up to date knowledge of all relevant UK accounting standards and reporting requirements and in particular FRS102
Lead with the annual audit and be the main contact for auditors and implement any recommendations that arise from the audit process
To lead the finance team, support operation and development teams and provide financial advice and information to the Senior Management team
Manage, motivate and inspire the finance team comprising:
Management accountant (treasury and transactions)
Management accountant (operations & development)
Provide support to the Senior Management Team on ad hoc projects to further the growth and ensure the future financial integrity and security of the Foundation and its subsidiaries

Essentials:

CCAB Qualified [or equivalent]
Experience managing and motivating a team
Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels
Ability to design and implement new processes and procedures
