Serve Talent are working with a successful Ipswich based manufacturer who are looking to recruit an enthusiastic & self-motivated Business Development Manager with Generator/Engine sales experience to take them to the next level.

Reporting into the Head of Operations and working alongside the Sales team, you'll be responsible the entirety of the sales process. From initial qualification & scoping of new opportunities, through to the translation of customer ideas into tangible solutions.

The business specialises in bespoke power generation, providing high-quality products throughout the world. Their engineering design, fabrication, manufacture and finishing teams combine to serve a wide range of clients including the MOD, NHS and National Grid, providing power generation solutions for Warships to Care Homes. This presents a varied, technically challenging and rewarding environment in which to work.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Qualifying and scoping new opportunities in new and emerging markets, whilst identifying new prospects, researching and analysing sales options.
  • Attend networking events on behalf of the business.
  • Establish & Develop relationships with new customers.
  • Attend meetings both nationally & internationally.
  • Generation & preparing quotations and proposals
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Design Team, Production and Test to ensure the correct technical outcomes for the customer.

Skills you'll possess:

  • Proven business development experience of the Marine and/or Industrial power generation market; please note this is experience is an essential requirement to this role and candidates without relevant direct experience will not be considered.
  • You'll have a tenacious drive to generate new business.
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Be able to communicate in a confident, professional & technical manner across various levels.
  • Be conversant with MS Office.
