Senior commercial contracts lawyer is sought to assist and advise the various business divisions of this well respected employer based in South-West of England.
This organisation's key customers are made up FTSE 100 businesses, as well as smaller to medium sized companies and individual consumers.
The role can begin between now and the end of July 2021 and is a 12 month contract - but a permanent position is an option due to resourcing requirements.
The job requires a lawyer of 5 year+ PQE. The lawyer should be able to demonstrate a good range of commercial experience and have the ability to engage with people at all levels within the business, so approachability is key!
Key parts of the role include:
· assisting in the drafting and negotiation and documentation of general commercial contracts and tender documentation for clients working alongside other senior lawyers.
· assisting in the provision of legal advice on client membership projects.
· assisting in the development of contract precedents.
· instructing panel solicitors as required to ensure cost-effective and efficient legal advice.
· resolving basic legal queries and disputes/complaints.
· assisting on data protection.
The role is predominantly home based but with some office contact. The employer is very flexible and if you are available immediately then they will consider an immediate start. The key is to find the right lawyer so if you are not available until the end of July, this will not impact your application.
The lawyer must be able to work on a day-to-day basis using his or her own initiative with guidance and direction as required from more senior legal team members and the General Counsel.
The role will require the lawyer to work closely with commercial managers, at different levels, within many departments and business units and to work with and for other members of the legal team. The candidate will need to provide commercially focused legal advice to facilitate the pragmatic management of commercial projects.
You will receive day to day instructions from commercial managers in the businesses and/or through the General Counsel in conjunction with other lawyers. You will report to the General Counsel who will provide functional management and day to day support and guidance to the role along with other members of the legal team.
