Principle Systems Engineer

Principle Systems Engineer needed for a multinational organisation based in Cumbria who are looking to employ an experienced and well–rounded Principle Systems Engineer that will have the opportunity to work on one of a variety of programmes, helping to design, develop, integrate, manage and support systems for a number of different projects. You will have a good understanding of the inputs, flow of decisions and dependencies that will impact system design as well as product delivery.
What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Principle Systems Engineer include:
Understanding our customers' challenging needs and acting as a subject matter expert; analysing, preparing and communicating these through the use of architectural methodologies
Developing complex system architectures and sub–systems and providing evidence of fitness for purpose
Supporting the development of our Architecture capability through workshops, direct support to other Engineering teams and is part of a growing community of System Engineers
Taking accountability for technical work packages
Providing leadership, guidance and coaching to other engineers
Steering new systems development through implementation of best practice systems lifecycle processes
Working with customers to support delivered systems and resolve issues
What experience you need to be the successful Principle Systems Engineer:
Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)
Significant experience in System Architecture definition and development (MoDAF, TOSAF, SOSAF etc)
Experience undertaking Systems Engineering activities. This should include some combination of:
Requirements Engineering and Management
Model Based Systems Engineering (UML, SysML etc)
Systems Integration, Verification and Validation
Implementing and Governing Engineering Lifecycles
Defining and managing System interfaces
Understanding of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations
