You'll be joining a high growth business based in Glasgow. Already a market leader in their field, they are now planning for the next phase of business growth. As part of their strategy they have identified the need to make significant leaps forward with their manufacturing footprint, particularly focussing on operational effectiveness, innovation and change.
Reporting to the Managing Director the new role of Operations Director will lead the manufacturing organisation and be a catalyst for change, driving forward change within the business to optimise their return on investment and fuel future growth. Specific projects will include the evaluation and improvement of their manufacturing capability and footprint, future–proofing their business and creating an environment for innovation around products and processes.
In this role, you'll have full accountability for the manufacturing activities across multiple sites and will directly inspire and develop a high performing team.
Key Responsibilities
* You will lead, motivate, and develop the team.
* You'll deliver the long and short–term operational plan, accountable for availability of quality products for our global customer base.
* Creation and implementation of operational improvement activities that support culture change, moving the business from a traditional to leading–edge organisation.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, engaging them in the change process designed to deliver transformational results.
* You'll build outstanding and collaborative relationships across the business gaining support and encouraging the adoption of modern manufacturing methodologies.
About You
Already at Director level your experienced will have been gained within a multi–site manufacturing business where you have led organisational level change and improvement programmes.
You'll have exceptional knowledge of effecting change and implementing operational improvement programmes through the use of Lean, 5S and 6Sigma, and be an expert in engaging the team to support you to achieve the strategic and operational changes that need to be made.
It goes without saying that you'll need brilliant leadership skills and you will also have a formidable reputation for nurturing, developing and leading high performing teams.
This really is an exciting opportunity, as a Senior Leader within the organisation you will be able to apply your expertise to set the change agenda and then lead the business to deliver on it.
