Group Account Director / Business Director (Financial Services) – Toronto, Canada – To GBP115k
Fully integrated, multi–award–winning Canadian agency seeks a Business Lead / Vice President (a solid Group Account Director / Business Director equivalent) to head up a high–profile financial services account.
Solid 1–1 / CRM knowledge is required, as is experience of working on financial services and ideally a major bank.
This role requires relocation to Canada in late 2021 or early 2022 – work from home is available until then. Canadian–based Vice Presidents are also very welcome to apply.
This role is exclusive to Fill Recruitment – you won't find it advertised anywhere else.
The agency
This 600–strong group has offices coast to coast, but they act and behave as one end–to–end agency. Centralised in Toronto, there are 270 people in that location alone.
Leaders in creativity, strategy, technology, CRM, data analysis, digital, mobile and social media, their belief is that all communications need to deliver a one–to–one connection, building bonds with the consumer that are lasting and valuable.
The agency is grounded in a culture of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. The result is great work that delivers exceptional, award–winning results for their clients.
The account
This bank is one of Canada's 'Big Five'.
The agency team in charge of the account are 1:1 / CRM experts whose key focus is on managing its entire email marketing across many lines of business – from personal banking and mortgages to insurance, credit cards and more.
They also work with some of its US businesses, representing the agency's next area of growth.
The Vice President / Business Lead role
The agency is seeking a new Vice President (UK GAD / Business Director equivalent), a role with big responsibility and huge opportunity.
The team is sizeable with around 90 full–time people dedicated to this one account. This comprises 35 in client services, 30 in tech; six in strategy / planning and 15 in creative.
After five years with the agency, the current VP is leaving for a new challenge. The agency is seeking an experienced GAD or Business Director as a replacement.
As part of the agency's leadership team, two GADs (UK SAD equivalent) will report into you alongside six ADs (SAM equivalent) in addition to junior–level support via Account Supervisors, Account Executives and Account Coordinators.
In–house the agency has developers, campaign managers, QA and Data Analysts who collectively undertake full end–to–end email deployment.
You
You are an account–handling heavyweight with recent and relevant financial services and banking experience. Highly regulated industries excite you, not scare you.
A passionate believer in email marketing, you live and breathe CRM / 1–1 communications and can bring a wealth of knowledge to this space.
You are empathetic and supportive, with a suppressed ego and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in when required. An ability to steer the ship, inspire confidence and motivate both clients and team members is second nature.
You are highly analytical, inquisitive and creative with solid C–suite experience and you relish client management and its challenges.
This is a high–profile role where proven leadership skills are required alongside a track record in growing and developing business.
Qualifications required
- At least 12 years of advertising account management experience (with 4+ years in a leadership role)
- Experience of end–to–end email marketing, 1:1 programs and wider CRM
- Financial industry experience
- Strong leadership and mentorship management style
- Impeccable presentation skills and the ability to build strong client relationships
- A passionate positive individual who will inspire and lead with an innovative mentality
- Knowledge of Salesforce or equivalent platform (Adobe/other).
Why live in Canada?
Canada is a stunning place for relocation, not least due to its great standard of living, exceptional scenery and friendly, welcoming attitude to immigrants.
One of the richest countries in the world, its shared language and close ties to the UK make it a perfect new destination, without seeming entirely foreign.
Remuneration
This position pays $175–200k Canadian dollars (GBP100–GBP115k sterling), representing a c.40% increase on a like–for–like role in the UK.
There is an additional relocation package of up to CA$20k (GBP11,500) for shipping, one–way flights and short–term accommodation. The agency also provides sponsorship and full visa application support.
Four weeks' holiday plus an extra week at Christmas and long weekends during the summer are also on offer, alongside an array of additional benefits.
If you are a Group Account Director, Business Director, Managing Partner or Business Lead with solid major high–street bank account experience and you would consider relocating to one of the most beautiful countries in the world, please get in touch.
Whilst every effort is made to contact everyone who applies, due to a high number of applications we are unable to give individual feedback to those who are unsuccessful.
