Our client is a Somerset based warehousing and distribution company that is privately owned and very successful. The business provides logistics solutions for a wide variety of clients. Having invested heavily in a suite of the most advanced technologies to ensure security, tracking and stock control the company prides itself in delivering a first class level of service to make sure that clients' goods are looked after to the very best levels throughout their respective travel journeys.
Requirement
This successful south west business is keen to recruit a high calibre Warehouse Operations Director. It's a wonderful opportunity, presenting the chance for the right person to join the Board of Directors in due course based on performance. This role is suited to someone with great experience within the Warehousing/Logistics industry who is looking for their next step within a rapidly expanding business. As the Warehouse Operations Director, you will take responsibility across the Warehousing operations within a multi–user environment.
Responsibilities
* Reporting into the Managing Director and working alongside other Board Directors, you will be responsible for managing, overseeing and coordinating the warehousing operation and service level agreements
* Ensure that the operation is running cost effectively, identifying and implementing process improvements, efficiencies, and opportunities for optimisation
* Manage a team of circa 25+ employees across Warehousing
* Mitigate risk in current working practices to enable growth within the business
* Responsible for the inventory management through your teams
* Accountable for staff development within the operation
* Site H&S control
Background & Suitability
* A focused career to date within Logistics Distribution and Supply across both Warehousing & Transport would be an advantage
* Strong background in the Ambient Warehousing and Distribution Industry
* Experience and background in 3PL and 4PL, including e–commerce with fulfillment solutions
* To have worked within organisations with an excess of 150+ staff previously
* Experience within a fast expanding business and change management
* Confident, organised, decisive and a clear communicator
