The Role
The legal services sector is going through fast–paced and dynamic changes, and the Law Society is focused on the current and future needs of the profession. We are looking for an experienced EDI Business Partner to join us at this exciting period of change, to drive and embed equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in our ways of working and culture across our organisation.
We are ambitious in our plans to become an organisation which truly embraces difference, embedding EDI into our core values, policies and practices.
Working closely with the business, you will:
* Lead in the development of our internal EDI strategy, policy and practice, overseeing implementation and measuring business outcomes.
* Provide business–focused solutions and plans in response to priority issues and opportunities, whilst also offering pragmatic outcomes–focused advice on EDI matters which support and enable delivery of the People Strategy.
* Work with teams across the business to put systems and structures in place to enable them to embed and manage EDI within their service area.
Working within the wider People and Organisational Development, you will be pivotal in supporting the delivery of value–added services which support the delivery of our people strategy.
What we're looking for
You will have substantial experience as an organisational lead for EDI, having worked with senior stakeholders to realise behaviour change. You will be a subject matter expert and have clear evidence of continuous professional development, which demonstrates up to date knowledge of EDI issues and solutions, including legal requirements.
With excellent interpersonal and communications skills, you will possess a high level of skill in relationship building and influencing and are able to operate in an environment of complex relationships. Proven experience of measuring business outcomes, impact and return on investment through equality, diversity and inclusion will be beneficial.
What's in it for you
We offer a generous flexible benefits package, hybrid working, a friendly work environment and the opportunity to develop your career with a professional organisation.
Although this role is full–time, we will consider applicants interested in working part–time / flexible working. Please reference this in your application.
We believe in the benefits of a diverse workforce and strongly welcome applications from those currently under–represented in the organisation, including LGBT+ people, people with disabilities and people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.
Please note: if you are an internal applicant, Pay Policy will apply.
To apply, please submit a CV and supporting statement (no more than 500 words) clearly demonstrating how you meet the requirements of the role.
The Law Society is the professional body for solicitors with over 145,000 members in England, Wales and around the world, and over 11,000 member firms operating in UK and international markets. We promote the profession, influence the legal and regulatory environment, keep members informed, support practice excellence and are a companion at every stage of their career. We also play an important public interest role.
