An award winning, specialist engineering and manufacturing company, are now keen to appoint an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Manager / Director.
You must be a driven individual, looking for a promising future and career as this role will offer the progression opportunity to Director level if you are currently a Manager.
OVERALL PURPOSE:
Responsible for the development, co–ordination, planning, prioritization, implementation and execution of Electrical services for the company.
To ensure Electrical installations are carried out in a safe manner and to the highest standards which are compliant with the relevant standards, including the latest revisions.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
* Experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Manager.
* 17th Edition Qualified Electrician.
* Extensive knowledge and experience of working on a top tier COMAH site (minimum 2 years in role or similar).
* CCNSG Safety Passport (or approved alternative)
* SMSTS
* Good Supervisory skills (minimum 2 years in role or similar).
* Good Planning / Organisational skills.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
* Apprentice Trained
* IOSH Managing Safely
* Extensive knowledge of explosive environments
* Asbestos Awareness
* CompEX EX01 to EX06
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Plan and manage electrical projects by determining specifications; selecting appropriate employees/contractors; establishing installation schedules; planning shut–downs and installations; integrating requirements with mechanical designs; updating cost estimates.
* Ensure training requirements are up to date and in place.
* Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with codes and legal regulations.
* Responsible for the compilation, control and execution of the electrical department budget.
* Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Ensuring all electrical personnel understand and adhere to RAMS.
* To ensure the electrical team carry out duties in a manner that endangers neither themselves nor others and to ensure correct personal use of PPE.
* Develop relationships with Clients attending site as and when required
* Identify and action business development opportunities with regard to expanding the electrical department.
* Work closely with the mechanical management team, to ensure synergy with the electrical department to meet project milestone dates.
* Responsible for electrical day works, management of contracts and personnel.
* Responsible for invoicing on a monthly basis.
* Electrical estimating
* Design commercial & industrial electrical, covering ATEX and compliance with BS7671.
* Estimating based on customer designs.
* Creating turn key projects.
* Produce piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID's).
* Produce block cable diagrams and electrical cable schematics.
* Use Microsoft Projects to track progress, feeding information to client.
* Using Amtech Pro, produce cable calculations.
* Review instrument and electrical equipment required.
