Head of UK Business Development – Remote Working – International BioTech Co. – up to GBP120k

We are excited to be recruiting for a global clinical–stage biotech company that is expanding in the UK and looking for an exceptional Head of UK Business Development who has extensive experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industries.

The Head of UK Business Development will utilise their knowledge, experience and networks to lead all business development and licensing efforts including search and evaluation, transactions, alliance management, in–licensing and out–licensing in the UK.

Suitable candidates will possess five to ten years experience in the biotech or pharma industries in successful business development roles. You will have an advanced degree in bioscience or related field and a Ph.D, MD or MBA would be preferred.

Key responsibilities as the Head of UK Business Development will include:

• Contributing to business development strategy aligned with the corporate strategy and drafting and executing action plans accordingly
• Identifying and evaluating potential licensing, co–development and strategic partnering opportunities worldwide
• Developing strong working relationships with internal teams and external resources to evaluate new opportunities; developing solid business cases to support the proposals and gain senior management buy–in
• Structuring, negotiating and finalising transactions
• Partnering with local companies

What we're looking for:

• Extensive business development experience in the biotech / pharmaceutical sectors (5–10 years)
• Advanced degree in bioscience or related field
• Excellent contract negotiation skills
• Exceptional communication skills
• In–depth understanding of drug discovery and the drug development process
• Experienced in search, evaluation and successful deal closing
• Transaction experience with a variety of deal structures required
• Extensive network in the pharmaceutical industry is highly desired
• Mandarin language skills are beneficial
