Your new company
International Baccalaureate are a global, industry leading, educational establishment offering four educational programmes to more than 1.95 million students aged 3 to 19 across the globe. Their UK headquarters based in Cardiff Gate is home to over a third of its global workforce, around 300 people, who focus on achieving their mission, "a more peaceful world through education".

Your new role
A true generalist HR and OD leadership position offering the best of both worlds with a local scope within a global context. You'll be the UK HR lead and will be integral to the success of the organisation with the responsibility for a range of employees across IT, assessment, and other critical disciplines. Whilst supporting the UK operations, you will be a leader within a matrix business, so you'll be regularly communicating and collaborating with department heads from across the world. Your key stakeholders will be the local HR/L&D/Talent recruitment team of 5, the global HR team, two executive level senior leaders and 8 department heads in the UK. You will report into the Global HR Director with the expectation that you to act independently and confidently in running the UK operation but will receive the support and assistance when required from the Global HRD. You will set the local strategy, recognise development areas and produce robust plans for the HR/OD function in the UK. Additionally, to overseeing the UK operational HR duties you'll be responsible for strategic initiatives including workforce planning, diversity & inclusion, and employee engagement. IBO has established a strong working relationship with their union partner, it is imperative that this relationship is maintained at a high level and you will be responsible for ensuring this.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll be an experienced HR / OD leader with proven capability to manage at both the operational and strategic level. You'll be CIPD qualified, ideally as a chartered fellow. You'll possess commercial acumen in your working style, will be a natural communicator, problem solver and team leader which, combined, will help take IBO to the next level. To stand out from other applicants you'll have proven experience of managing union relationships, working within a matrix set up and across multiple locations (preferably internationally).

What you'll get in return
Additionally to a competitive salary circa GBP75,000 (reviewed annually), you'll receive 30 days annual leave, 6% ER pension contribution and flexible cash benefits up to 1.5% of annual salary. Currently working on a remote basis, the UK office will be re–opening in the early Autumn where you'll be working on a hybrid basis (likely 3 days per week in the office). The extensive, modern office based conveniently just off the M4 on the outskirts of Cardiff offers excellent transport links and free onsite parking.
