Legal Counsel

Our client seeks to recruit an in-house lawyer to join their established in-house legal team based in Birmingham city centre. Reporting into the Associate General Counsel the role will assist with the provision of high quality legal support including drafting documents and providing advice to staff at all levels on all aspects of commercial/contracts law including in relation to the procurement and negotiation of high value, complex construction agreements as well as other generic legal contracts.

A qualified solicitor with a minimum of 4 years' PQE you will work closely with the team and internal customers. Commercially minded you will have experience of and provide commercial contract advice in respect of high value procurement law. Construction contract experience (particularly NEC3) would also be desirable or alternatively a strong desire to develop your knowledge of major works contracts.

In addition to possessing a strong technical background and with experience at either a respected law firm or in-house, you must exhibit strong personal credibility have excellent client care skills as well as being a talented communicator. Strong self-motivation and the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks under pressure is vital.
