University Hospitals Sussex is one of the biggest acute Trusts in the UK and this role as Director of Business Intelligence is an integral part of the newly merged Trust senior team reporting to the Chief Delivery & Strategy Officer. The role will work as part of the Trust's senior leadership team with internal accountability and autonomy to lead, drive and coordinate our Business Intelligence functions and strategy, enabling us to establish new ways of working and deliver the sustainable change we aspire to.

The primary responsibility of the role will be to enable the continued development of a patient focused approach with informatics. The role will lead on the management of Business Intelligence for the Trust, pushing boundaries in the health sector and supporting the business to do more in the world of predictive modelling, AI, and adapting and responding to post COVID complexities. The post holder will show how to create a vision and strategy for analytics within our organisation, and build dynamic simulation modelling that helps us develop our plans and operationally run the organisation from the Boardroom to the frontline of healthcare services.

We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for establishing and delivering the BI and Data Analytics Strategy and the aligned priorities within the overall organisational Strategy and Plan. The role will work with both the Board and senior colleagues within UH Sussex and also externally with a wide variety of organisations such as our Integrated Care System (ICS), other NHS Providers and CCGs, to understand and support our part in leading the develop of our integrated health and social care system in Sussex. The role requires an ability to deliver transformational change with others across a complex system and to represent the Trust at a regional and national level as an expert in the Information and Business Intelligence agenda.

The successful candidate will need excellent communication and influencing skills in order to identify and mobilise available resources and expertise across health and social care systems to deliver our priorities.

Whilst NHS experience is not required proven experience of successful leadership of information and intelligence services on a large scale, and understanding of new technologies, approaches, and simulation modelling across complex organisations is essential.
