We are recruiting two in house solicitors for our client who is a global leading pharmaceutical company based in Manchester.
Description
The roles would be a great option for lawyers who are technically strong and commercially-minded, looking for a fast-paced environment away from private practice.
Legal: The job holder will be a qualified solicitor admitted in England and Wales with sound technical knowledge and experience of commercial contracts law and data protection. Intellectual property, would be desirable but not essential will have a proven track record of operating in a fast paced, changing environment. The Legal Manager will provide expert advice and support to the business. Legal responsibilities will include reviewing, drafting and supporting/leading (depending on complexity) the negotiation of contracts and issues arising from their operation. In addition, the job holder will provide advice to the business on a wide range of issues, including data protection and intellectual property.
Compliance: Knowledge and experience of the ABPI Code of Practice and UK laws and regulations relating to the Pharmaceutical Industry are desirable but not essential and experience in a highly regulated sector would be advantageous. However, the job holder will be expected to develop and improve their knowledge in such matters over time. The job holder will provide advice to the business on a wide range of compliance issues and be involved in regular training and initiatives to ensure the business operates to the highest standards of compliance. Additionally, the job holder must have good communication skills, both written and oral.
Profile
Commercial junior and mid/ senior level solicitors from a private practice or in house background should apply for these roles.
Candidates should have a detailed knowledge and understanding of key business, legal and compliance issues (preferably but not essentially within the pharmaceutical industry)
Significant experience of drafting and negotiating contractual agreements
Knowledge and experience in Data Protection law
Line management experience desirable but not essential
Intellectual Property experience desirable but not essential
Job Offer
The level of salary for this In House Solicitor role is commensurate with market rate.
The benefits include a car/ car allowance, flexible working and bonus up to 15%, which can be flexed higher.
