The Opportunity

At Just Eat Takeaway, our purpose is to be a leading online food delivery marketplace. We've built our business on having the widest choice available on our platform – connecting millions of customers with over 205,000 restaurants across 24 countries – with over 100 different cuisines from local independents to globally famous restaurants, available to order via our app and website.

Our UK Restaurant Delivery Services has grown 695% from Q1 2020 to Q2 2021 and we continue to grow at a rapid pace. In November 2020 we launched a new agency worker delivery model (Scoober) in Central London and we are now expanding to other cities across the country.

If you are ready for your next challenge and want to play a part in making a step change in the food delivery experience for restaurant partners and customers, this is the opportunity for you. You will be entirely responsible for the scale up and launch of a new worker model and the performance of the food delivery operations and its support functions.

We are looking for a highly dedicated and ambitious team player to inspire and build a new team of local hub operations and central support teams. You are comfortable working in a fast–paced start–up environment with an ability to deliver at pace. You have a good balance between solid "hand–on" operational experience to execute operational plans and a strategic and analytical mindset to future proof business plans. You will need to bring energy and drive to motivate your teams and promote a continuous improvement and safety first culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and scale up the new food delivery model across the UK

  • Coach and develop your team members, ensuring their personal growth and safe working practices at the same speed as the expansion of our Operations

  • Define and optimise the strategy for a sustainable but rapid scale up of operations

  • Manage alignment, ensure best practice standardization and create scalability

  • Deliver strong and competitive performance and experience across the network

  • Build and maintain internal and external relationships to optimize the quality of the services offered, especially to the key partner restaurants and other service partners.

  • Focus on continuous improvements within the team and initiating projects to optimize quality and cost factors

  • Represent the Scoober Operations of the UK towards Senior Management

Required skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have solid operational experience, ability to inspire and engage a large geographically dispersed team. You are collaborative and will be comfortable working pragmatically in a fast paced innovative climate.

Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record for:

  • University degree or comparable level of education

  • Minimum of 6 – 8 years' experience in operations or/and logistics management

  • Analytical skills and critical thinking

  • Proven track record in leadership, change management and organizational design

  • Experience in LEAN and project management is a plus

  • Thriving in a hyper dynamic and high–stakes environment

  • Being able to think strategically and look >1 year ahead on a country / local level and develop business plans
