A North East NHS Trust are seeking to appoint an Interim Deputy Chief People Officer to support the CPO and provide expert advice to the CPO on the design, development and effective implementation of all workforce, education, training and organisational development strategies.

Main responsibilities:

Regularly review the trust wide education and training requirements of the trust and ensure the development of strategy and interventions to meet those needs;
Provide leadership, expert advice and support in the commissioning of external providers;
Provide senior leadership internally and externally to the Trust, working collaboratively with key partners and stakeholders;
Provide professional leadership, vision and direction for the human resources function and provide high quality, innovative and consistent operational services to meet the needs of clinical and non–clinical departments across the Trust;
Develop the capacity and capability across all aspects of the HR and OD functions to ensure a fit for purpose team Support the development of a Trust wide People strategy which is in line with national thinking and serves the needs of our people;
Ensure Workforce Business Managers mirror this approach within Care Groups;
Lead the development and implementation of relevant leadership and management programmes at all levels of the organisation from board to ward embedding and strengthening the cultural values of the organisation;
Design, develop and implement relevant team building events to meet the needs of the organisation;
Provide access to appropriate OD tools and diagnostics i.e. coaching & mentoring, Appraisal 360 tools, MBTI, Belbin including the administration/maintenance of specialist IT related systems;
Represent the trust at regional & national events as appropriate.
Essential Skills/Experience:

Registered with CIPD
Significant experience of working at a senior level within a workforce function in a complex multi–professional organisation
Significant Experience in the NHS at a managerial level
Significant Experience of managing complex workforce teams
Significant Experience of Business case production and strategic planning
