Your new company
This organisation utilises research and development gained between engineers and scientists to advance the growth of a specific type of biological therapy to treat disease. They work alongside individuals within industry and academia to develop these therapies for health services over the world. Due to growth within the organisation, they are looking to increase their Legal team by appointing a Legal Counsel based in London.

Your new role
The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Legal in providing advice on a wide variety of contractual and legal situations. This is a wide-ranging role covering many aspects of legal practice for example property leases, collaboration agreements, clinical trial agreements, IP licenses, sales terms and conditions. You will be one of the legal experts for the company and the role also includes the responsibility to advise the business on compliance matters. As such the successful candidate needs a broad knowledge of contract law along with an interest in expanding their working knowledge in other diverse areas of legal practice.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need to be a qualified solicitor at 2PQE+ (as a guide only). You will ideally have a few years' experience of drafting and negotiating large and complex commercial contracts as well as experience of licensing, service agreements, data sharing, clinical trials agreements using and amending the NHS/ABPI/BIA template agreements - although this is not essential. Experience of dealing with IP contracts will be beneficial. In terms of key competencies, you will have the ability to quickly establish credibility, build rapport and trust with internal and external stakeholders.
