A rapidly expanding tech business who are making a real difference in a meaningful sector is looking for an experienced Director of People in London. Working remotely if required, you will be leading a Group wide HR/Talent team, assuring the successful execution of the people strategy through planning, development, and delivery of HR projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate HR leader used to partnering at CEO level and with the wider leadership team to grow and apply their experience in a company that is on a high–growth trajectory.

As Director of People, your responsibilities will include:

Working with the Group CEO and Divisional MDs to lead the development of the group that will enable the company to meet its strategic goals and partner with the relevant stakeholders to support the successful delivery of strategic and BAU HR & talent management projects within the business.
Reporting on metrics and progress against priorities to the leadership team and board.
Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of the internal and external talent environment, ensuring that the strategy and approach is relevant and commercial to enable business growth.
Designing and executing hiring strategies to attract, evaluate and hire qualified candidates with a focus on cultural fit and minimising use of agencies.
Instilling a learning and coaching culture including helping to organise and deliver training events and offsites across the company.
Creating a culture of high performance and continuous feedback, including ownership of the full performance and compensation cycle.
Managing, coaching, and nurturing talent within the team and across the wider business, ensuring strong succession pathways across critical roles and functions.
Building and maintaining a strong employer brand so that the organisation can develop strong talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
Developing and implementing programmes to drive an exceptional employee experience including onboarding of new hires, managing performance, measuring, and driving employee engagement, remuneration and benefits.
Helping the business to communicate internally and be as transparent as possible.
Developing and maintaining policies to ensure they uphold their values of diversity and inclusion, as well as compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements.
Overseeing the tech stack and associated tools.
We are looking for a Director of People who has the following skills and experiences:

Proven track record of successfully leading a people function within a fast–growth multi–site business (ideally within a PE/VC backed technology/SaaS business or SME).
A passion for developing people and company culture, with experience of leading and inspiring through change, adapting, and performing in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.
Sound general knowledge of all areas of HR business partnering, including organisation development, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee relations and resourcing.
Experience of building recruitment processes and teams to support a business scale.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to develop strong and productive relationships with people of all backgrounds and levels of seniority – with a human/common–sense approach to resolving issues.
Proven track–record of providing sound, reliable, timely and commercially driven counsel and services to senior leadership teams backed with data.
Experience of using HR technology to automate, improve processes and deliver seamless employee experience.
A willingness to travel to regional offices (UK Based).
An interest in the education sector.
