Seven Resourcing are looking for an Interim Programme Director to work with the London Smoking Transformation Programme in Tower Hamlets. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying GBP382.30 per day (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

are looking for an experienced Programme Director to provide interim oversight to the London Smoking Cessation Transformation Programme, a joint initiative across London's Local Authorities, and the development of a London Smoke Free Alliance.

The programme aims to raise awareness of smoking cessation support to Londoners, and offer additional services that complement local provision. A key element is Stop Smoking London, the public facing identity of the programme offering digital and telehealth services alongside award winning smoking cessation advertising campaigns.

The programme is also working with partners to establish a London–wide Smoke Free Alliance and support the development and delivery of a London tobacco control strategy. The Alliance aims to bring partners together enabling a whole system approach to achieving a smoke free London by 2029 with a specific focus on health inequalities.

This is an interim role whilst a substantive Programme Director post is being recruited to.

Key Responsibilities:

Finalising the programme's direction for the year including communications strategy, stakeholder engagement approach, and service developments.

Commissioning, procurement and monitoring of contracts and suppliers – this includes the Stop Smoking Website, Helpline, communications and marketing campaigns (including insight work) and stakeholder engagement activities.

Ensuring plans are in place across each of the programmes workstreams and manage delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard.

Managing risks to reputation and delivery of the programme, working closely with the tobacco lead for the London Association of Directors of Public Health.

Ensuring programme governance is in place, developing these to fit the needs of the emerging London Smoke Free Alliance.

Leading a virtual matrix team, based across boroughs and partner organisations. This includes supervision of a full time Transformation Programme Manager.

Shape early plans for the development of the London Smoking Alliance.

Strengthening relationships, through modelling a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes and embedding this approach across London.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: N/A.
Experience: Proven experience of successfully managing and delivering complex, high value programmes and portfolios using a structured programme management process and programme management methods, principles, techniques and tools. Experience of successfully leading multi– disciplinary, multi stakeholder programme teams in a politically sensitive and complex environment.
Compliance: Current DBS check and references.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 35 hours p/w.
