Are you a current IT Director looking for an amazing new challenge? Or maybe you are a Head of IT looking for that next step. Here at Welcome Break, we have a brand–new role as an IT Director reporting directly into our CEO and forming part of the senior leadership team. This is a fast–paced business and whilst we feel previous experience within hospitality or Retail would be advantageous, if you are used to working in a fast moving environment then this could be a perfect match.

As IT Director you will be responsible for developing & driving (along with your team) a group wide IT strategy. You will be accountable for overseeing delivery of all IT projects, technical infrastructure and driving improvements through business wide applications. This role will be leading a team of IT Managers and Team Members, determining business requirements for IT systems, managing the design and implementation of IT infrastructure, and eliminating security risks. The strategy must embrace all things technology and focus on finding innovative digital solutions to drive efficiencies across our business.

What you would be responsible for:
* Developing Welcome Break Technology & Digital Strategy ensuring technologies are used efficiently, profitably, and securely sourcing, evaluating, and implementing new systems and infrastructure utilising the IT team throughout.
* Enhancing the customer experience through delivery of intelligent and integrated digital solutions
* Expertise in digital transformation projects and process improvement
* Manage technical resources and ensure they are geared towards delivering business change at pace
* Implementing and maintain networking safeguards that prevent security breaches and keep all company and customer data secure
* Cost control and management of IT Capex and Opex budgets
* Use stakeholders' feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology for each part of our business areas
* Be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team providing the technology interface to the rest of the business requirements
* Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and maintain them according to established group standards set
* Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and provide a clear strategic plan where required to deliver
* Assist in building relationships with vendors and overseeing all IT contracts to ensure they are fit for purpose
* Work with the Group CIO and function on delivering group strategicinitiatives and standards
* Attend Group COE meetings and provide country input for group reporting.

Experience, skills and knowledge.

Proven experience as IT director or in a similar role (maybe as Head of IT etc)Multi–site hospitality and or retail experience.Experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projectsExcellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organisationExcellent leadership and decision–making skillsStrong knowledge of project management principlesExperience of managing a large IT budget effectively, commercially awareExperience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specificationExcellent organisational and leadership skillsOutstanding communication and presentation skills.Degree educated in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
