My client are hiring for a Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join their team based on the outskirts of Cambridge.
Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of core infrastructure, including Active Directory, LAN, firewalls and Office365.
* Administer the VMware vSphere 7 infrastructure and Netapp SANs.
* Respond to alerts from network and system monitoring tools to minimize downtime.
* Administer backup and disaster recovery systems and processes.
* Monitor security systems and take action to adhere with best practice.
* Creating and maintaining internal documentation, procedures, processes, and standards.
* Handle escalated calls from the IT helpdesk.
* Research, plan and implement infrastructure upgrades and replacement solutions solely or as part of a team.
* Help drive the operating companies towards a cloud first mindset.
* Occasional travel to other sites as required to support infrastructure migrations and upgrades.
Experience:
* Advanced knowledge of MS Exchange, Office365 and multi–site, multi–domain Active Directory.
* Networking expertise – TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, Next Gen Firewalls.
* 5+ years' working knowledge of VMware vSphere.
* 5+ years' experience with enterprise storage.
* Experience with Microsoft Azure/hybrid infrastructure deployments and SSO.
* Experience with Microsoft desktop OSs (Windows 7, 8, 10).
* In–depth knowledge of one scripting language.
* Basic knowledge of Linux and Macintosh desktop OS deployments in a corporate environment.
* Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Identify creative solutions and solve problems using experience.
* High attention to detail, with the mindset to check for expected outcomes.
* Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
