We are currently working with an impressive Technology company based in Cambridge who have a requirement for an Ink Systems Engineer to join their busy and expanding team. This role will require a self–starter who has the ability, after some training, to oversee multiple Hi–tech projects, collaborating with customers, partner companies and a team of leading in–house experts.

The company are a leading developer of Industrial Inkjet Software, Drive Electronics, Components and Systems. Their products drive thousands of Printheads and Scanning Systems all over the world. Although this role is based primarily at the company Headquarters in Cambridge, you will also be required to travel with the position as required, when restrictions allow. Also, some out of hours customer support may be required due to time differences.

For this position, we are seeking an Enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to join a dedicated team of engineers developing and supporting products for industrial inkjet printers. The role will involve extensive customer support, working with machine builders to successfully integrate the product into their systems. Although the primary focus of the role is a Mechanical bias, some understanding of electronics and software would also be a huge benefit.

In order to be considered for this role, we require an Engineer ideally from an R&D environment within Technical Manufacturing, or candidates who have worked on in–depth projects as part of a PhD with has confident communication skills. Other skills and attributes required:

* A Degree qualification within a relevant Engineering Subject would also be desirable such as Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a closely related discipline

* A strong interest in working with customers to resolve complex issues

* The ability to grasp complex technical issues with a high level of resolve is required along with a Basic knowledge of Fluid Dynamics and some level of understanding of Software packages and how they complement the R&D stages of manufacturing.

* A hands–on approach to problem solving and experience of Mechanical Design with either Solidwork or similar package

* A hands–on approach with an interest in Lab work

* Confident and passionate about working within a technical environment

* Some understanding of electronics and industrial inkjet technologies would also be highly desirable

* Also some experience of writing software would be advantageous (C#, Python)

In terms of the right person for the role; this position will suit an organised, effective Technology Professional who is seeking a role within a collaborative environment. Excellent people and effective communication skills are required along with a passion for attention to detail. Strong problem solving skills and the ability to remain calm and think clearly under pressure. Ideally some practical electronics and programming skills would also be really helpful. Due to the nature of the role, the ability to speak another language could also prove to be really helpful.
