Business Development Manager
Set up in 2011, Synoptix is rapidly becoming recognised as one of the UK's most capable suppliers of systems engineering expertise and know–how. We have built up an enviable customer base in aerospace and defence and are now seeking to extend our presence and influence in the rail, transportation and public utility sectors – all of which are showing a growing appetite for the type of rigorous System Engineering we advocate.
The role
Reporting to the Sales Director, the Business Development Manager will play a vital part in our integrated 'win work' strategy, identifying and cultivating suitable prospect customers with the purpose of producing detailed and high integrity assessments of their specific requirements. To achieve this, the Business Development Manager will be fully briefed in 1. the system engineering methodologies employed by our engineering department and 2. the commercial aspects of the various delivery options via which our services may be supplied. Above all, the prime responsibility of the Business Development Manager will be to guarantee the accurate interpretation of your customers' needs in order to maximise the take up and eventual success of the solutions we propose.
Typically, the Business Development Manager can expect to be involved in the following tasks:
Identify leads and prospects with new customers and develop proposals to grow these opportunities into sales
Selling the concept of Systems Engineering and our unique offering
Management of Government and MoD supplier frameworks
Providing responses to RFI/RFQ's with concise and accurate proposals/responses
Coordinating sales projects
Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
Making technical presentations and demonstrating how our service will meet client needs
Travelling to visit potential clients
Preparation of reports
Exceeding sales targets

Our Requirement
Good understanding of Systems Engineering principles.
You should have proven experience selling services across a variety of engineering industries and be comfortable engaging with customers up to Executive level.
You will be able to demonstrate a track record of continued success over achieving sales targets and winning new accounts.
You can demonstrate proven strength in sales and possess an ability to build long–term and effective relationships with clients.
You must be assertive, hardworking, and have excellent communication skills, with a collaborative mind–set.
