Whilst retaining and developing its traditional offering it has also recently been selected as the Tees Valley hub of the North East's Institute of Technology – A new concept providing higher technical training through collaboration between further and higher education and employers. The funding secured through the Institute of Technology has been invested in extending the College's STEM Centre, the latest expansion of the Middlesbrough College group, bringing a range of academic, technical, and vocational training opportunities to learners across the region.
Responsibilities;
- As part of the Senior Leadership Team, to actively develop and deliver the College's Strategic Plan, in particular achieving our mission through delivering the priority of 'one commitment' to our local employers.
- To lead on the College group's employer engagement, finding innovative solutions to employer talent and recruitment problems, and working with curriculum departments to ensure a high–quality skills pipeline to improve the productivity of their business.
- To grow the number of high–quality apprenticeship and work experience placements available for young people locally and offered through the college group.
- To be visible externally, networking with local businesses, charities and stakeholders and actively attending and contributing to business events, sponsorship opportunities, dinners, awards and skills forums.
- Supporting the combined authority in its delivery of the local industrial strategy, Freeport development, Tees Works partnership and skills plans.
- To develop our employer engagement operational strategy, working with curriculum leads and using a cross college CRM to communicate, consult and engage in a coordinated manner with employers across the region.
- To secure bids and contracts, working in collaboration with other bodies and managing their delivery and reporting requirements.
- To manage the business development, work experience, bids and partnerships and apprenticeship recruitment teams – managing targets, developing team members, providing training and succession planning opportunities and carrying out performance reviews.
- To manage a small team of international sales executives and to maintain and secure new contracts for TTE's flagship technical international business.
- To provide timely and accurate reports and presentations to SLT, CMT and the governing body as and when required.
- To provide thought leadership on matters of skills policy and attend policy groups and forums to influence and enact new skills policy – nationally and locally through devolution.
- To advise and exploit other business development and commercial opportunities that the college may have.
- To manage budgets associated with your area of responsibilities
