PH Programme Manager (Covid–19) (Public Health)– Bedford Borough Council
GBP400/day
JOB PURPOSE:
To programme manage a range of projects related to the public health management of COVID–19 from implementation through completion across Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Councils.
Ensure the high performance of projects by leading on all strands of delivery including local and national communications and stakeholder engagement with a variety of partners internal and external to the Councils.
This role is for an Operational Lead for Contact Tracing & Strategic Lead for Testing
contract tracing would involve leading a team of 22 FTE contract tracing team across MK, Bedford and Central Beds.
Each LA has a team lead so you would be co–ordinating across the team and reporting on activity
We would like someone who can hit the ground running, so operational Covid–19 experience (ideally test & trace), proven ability to manage a programme of work, lead a team and develop projects to completion
Excellent knowledge and experience of using project and programme management techniques and approaches to successfully manage a programme of work to successful conclusion.
Broad understanding of business management principles supported by a level of competency gained through management qualification (Level 5 qualification, Prince" practitioner or equivalent)
Confident communicator, able to interpret data and convey complex information and concepts (including health outcomes, inequalities and life expectancy) to a diversity of audiences using different methods
Strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills, coupled with an ability to effectively apply these to practical outcomes
Excellent problem–solving abilities
Proven ability to influence and coordinate other organisations and agencies to increase their engagement with health and wellbeing, ill–health prevention and health inequalities
Proven ability to monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of strategy and policy implementation making recommendations for improvement
Proven ability to manage a complex and demanding workload, prioritising effectively and meeting tight deadlines.
Extensive problem–solving skills that will enable you to solve complex problems and ensure successful outcomes, removing blockages and obstructions to success. Finding innovative ways of solving or pre–empting problems. Extensive knowledge of risk management and its application
