Head of Finance Business Partnering

MLC Partners are working with a large children’s charity who are looking to bring in a Head of Finance Business Partnering to fill a newly created vacancy. Having recently gone through a restructure in the finance team and wider organisational change, this role has the opportunity to shape their own team and work with other leaders to develop the culture in the team. With a clear progression path, this is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious person to grow into a broad role with exciting future plans.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

Lead and develop four direct reports and a wider team of ten, some of whom are well experienced and others who are also new to the charity.
Oversee and scrutinise the business partnering offered to the wider organisation, covering all of the children’s services directorate and offering support to the high growth areas of the team.
Business partner with directorate leaders, setting the standard for the team in terms of delivery and service.
Develop more standardised ways of working, ensuring there is consistency across all areas of the team, improving on existing processes and procedures.
Analyse new and existing contracts with a focus on the margins, risks and opportunities that they present whilst always considering the value for money in the delivery of services.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with experience of managing teams in previous roles. You’ll be a highly competent business partner who sets high standards for themselves and those in reporting roles and be able to evidence the development you have driven previously. Charity experience will likely be essential, although if you have experience in a local authority which focuses on service delivery that would also stand you in good stead for the challenges in this role.
