Our national client, who specialise in Office Refurbishment and Partitioning are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join their team. You will be experienced in a similar field, and have extensive business development experience. The salary for this role is competitive with a great commission structure and car scheme. Actively source and negotiate contracts for the provision of the supply of the products and services offered by the Company within the north.
To develop and form strong ongoing relationships with key individuals to secure new projects and repeat work.
To become familiar with the mechanisms of the estimating system to obtain a broad knowledge of cost build up.
To oversee the development and management of junior Business Development Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

To explore opportunities and secure new Contractor accounts.
To manage new and existing Contractor accounts to ensure that relationships are maintained and strengthened with the aim of reinforcing our position as the 'provider of choice' for new projects.
Develop a list of opportunities to be tracked on a regular basis.
Maintain knowledge on all product range and ensure the product is positioned appropriately within the designated markets.
Provide a technical and advisory role to architects and contractors.
Ensure a seamless transition from initial lead through to project commencement, liaising with entire project team including architect/designer, quantity surveyor, estimating team, project manager and main contractor.
Assist with the production of proposals and quotations to clients and potential clients.
Prepare tender and post–tender presentations.
Liaise with the estimating team during the tender period and oversee tender presentations.
Initiate and oversee the order process by receiving a client's order and any associated information.
Communicate regularly with sales support team to ensure response times and service levels are maintained.
Ensure a constant focus on lead generation by using such methods as compiling press cuttings and using lead generation websites.
Attend all sales and other meetings as directed.
Achieve and exceed volume sales targets.
Ensure any client details are maintained and are accurate on the client database.
Maintain knowledge on competitor products.
Ensure knowledge and awareness of your roles and responsibilities under the Company's integrated management systems in relation to Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental.
Ensure knowledge and understanding of the Company's policies and procedures in relation to data protection legislation.Person Specification

Previous experience of working in a similar role within the industry.
Evidence of achieving sales targets.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
The ability to build rapport with customers.
Efficient and well organised.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Self–motivated and able to use initiative.
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to own personal development within the role.
An interest in the business.
Technically minded

Qualifications

The following are required:

GCSE English (or equivalent)
GCSE Maths (or equivalent)
IT skills

In addition, the following will be preferred:

Experience in product sales.
Experience of managing marketing budgets and plans.
