A fast-growing digital services company is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its growing in-house legal team in Manchester for a full-time, permanent role focusing on commercial and technology matters.
Your New Role
The In-House Counsel will join a leading digital services business providing bespoke and unified technology, operational, brand and marketing services to household name clients across the UK, Europe, Australasia and beyond.

The Role
Working alongside two experienced members of the legal department, the new Legal Counsel will be exposed to the same varied, bespoke and interesting commercial contracts undertaken by the existing team members. You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, and you will have enhanced access to, and interaction with, customers and senior stakeholders and decision makers within the company.
Although our client provides digital and technology solutions as part of its product offering, this role is not solely focused on technology contracts. It can be best described as a mixed commercial role with a focus on technology. Thus, individuals applying for this role could come from a pure commercial and/or technology/software background.

- Bespoke contract negotiation and drafting, including major outsourcing arrangements;
- Varied commercial advice to senor stakeholders and sales teams;
- Liaising with and instructing external solicitors and advisors, particularly overseas;
- Dealing with multiple territories and jurisdictions;
- Assisting with projects and ad hoc matters; and
- Working on wider Group commercial requirements as required.
This Legal Counsel role is well suited to a Solicitor who demonstrates:
- A keen interest in tech combined with a varied general commercial contracts background;
- 1-4 years' PQE, although those with more/less will be considered; and
- Existing in-house experience is beneficial but not a prerequisite.
