GSL are working for a client in Liverpool who is seeking an inspirational and dynamic Director of Education,to provide strategic leadership and management for the education functions of the Archdiocese, ensuring, as a core element of the Church's mission and ministry, the provision of high quality education in school communities characterised by a strong Catholic ethos.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To lead on the development of a vision for Catholic education in the Archdiocese for approval by the Archbishop and Trustees.
To ensure that sound Christian Education, remains (and is further developed) as a core component of the school curriculum
To advise, and be accountable to, the governance structures of the Archdiocese, especially those with an explicit education purpose.
To oversee plans for, and implement models of, school organisation that meet the needs of local communities and the Catholic community in particular.
To oversee the management of the educational estate and delivery of capital investment (as set out in Education capital plans).
To advise schools with regards to continuous improvement
Maintain and promote the relationship with the Catholic Education Service
To manage the Education Department overseeing the work of staff
To develop the capacity of the Education Department through coaching, training and review
To contribute to the Senior Management Team and overall work of the ArchdiocesePerson Specification:
Essential:
An outstanding leader with NPQH/QTS,/QTLS or a higher level management evidence of ongoing professional development
Substantial experience of working successfully at a senior level in education, including senior management responsibility within a school/academy, college or a local authority
Are you excited for a SLT role and possess detailed understanding of primary/secondary education
A sound working knowledge of the Catholic faith
Ability to generate school improvement and knowledge of the strategies and tactics to achieve this
Highly developed organization, strategic planning and administrative skills
A team player who can work well with colleagues in the Diocesan Office, parish priests and local church leaders
Willingness to work flexibly and outside of normal working hours as required
Able to work both collaboratively and independently
Able to travel across the ArchdioceseTo apply for the role, you will:
Hold a full and valid DBS registered with the update service, or be prepared to apply for a new one
