Role: Head of Internal Communications

Location: Initially remote but then office based

Hourly rate: GBP34 p/h

Working pattern: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Start date: ASAP

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Internal Communications lead to join our not–for–profit Client, on a full time permanent basis.

As Head of Internal Communications, you will lead on the development, planning and delivery of our internal communications strategy, embedding it across the organisation as a priority.

Required skills and knowledge:

* Excellent understanding of internal communications best practice.
* Knowledge of employee engagement principles and successful culture change programmes.
* Relevant professional qualification relating to internal communications is highly desirable (e.g. CIM, IOIC, CIPR).
* Demonstrable experience of both strategic planning and practical delivery of internal communications in a variety of organisations and sectors.
* Highly experienced professional who has led effective internal communications delivery in the context of growth, business transformation and culture change – and in a comparable organisation with multiple sites.
* Highly resilient with ability to successfully influence and manage relationships at leadership levels, providing direction, advice and coaching, as well as confident in providing constructive challenge when required.
* Demonstrable experience of developing internal communications strategies for a variety of business needs and objectives from inception through to reporting, providing tactical approaches and/or recommendations for best results.
* Practical experience of developing and utilising a variety of internal communications tools and interactive channels to deliver effective interactions with staff/teams business wide.
* Demonstrable experience of delivering cohesive engagement across a distributed organisation, driving change and/or securing buy–in across diverse teams in different locations.
* Exemplary written, verbal communications and interpersonal skills with ability to grasp and disseminate complex and sensitive information via compelling communications.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and respond to changing landscapes, audience needs and views.
* Highly organised and astute with ability to manage competing demands and priorities.
* Able to work with a high degree of autonomy whilst ensuring an integrated and collaborative approach is achieved.
* Demonstrable understanding and commitment to equality and diversity.
