Senior Business Analyst
BAE Systems Shared Services provides capabilities and business services to BAE Systems' UK operations and external customers.
We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Business Analyst at our site in Preston.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be a key point of contact between change (both internal and external) and the business for system/application developments and process/technical enhancements across the group.
The role will cover HR/Finance solutions providing a key component in change to people, process, toolset and data, and adherence to design principles and process standardisation.
This role will provide you with the ability to work in a varied role alongside different key stakeholders across the business. You will support with change and drive and oversee the changes made across a landscape of technology platforms. You will be the subject matter expert to the stakeholders and will have the opportunity to grow with the role and the business making it your own.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Business Analyst will involve:
Analysing the business impact of change requirements from multiple sources; application driven change (releases), business-initiated change, people/payroll strategy driven change and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborating closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance for testing
Supporting the preparation and presentation of change assessments with recommendations to monthly Change Review Board
Collecting, understanding and transmitting the business requirements for the project and translating these into functional specifications and detailed test plans
Working with the appropriate technical leads and 3rd party organisations to ensure solutions are properly designed, developed, tested and implemented
Validating the design with stakeholders to ensure that the design satisfies the business requirements
Mentoring and supporting junior business analysts, reviewing documentation and providing supportive feedback
Essential:
Proven experience working in a technical business analysis role
Demonstrable evidence of analysing and documenting complex business processes
A passion for your chosen specialist field and the ability to plan and articulate the BA and Business change management tasks and activities required during project delivery.
Industry recognised professional qualifications e.g. BCS Diploma, Lean six sigma
Strong stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
Experience of delivering work streams across multiple simultaneous projects
Experience of stage gate delivery processes such as Prince 2 and Non-Prince 2 delivery methodologies e.g. Agile
Experience of business process modelling using BPMN
Educated to degree level, preferably in a related discipline
Experience of using ERP Systems & Success Factors
