The role

As part of the Digital Transformation Leadership team, accountable for the delivery of the Business Systems Programme within the overall Digital and Data Transformation Programme. This is equivalent to a GBP600m business change programme which requires experienced and strategic delivery leadership. Accountable for delivery against key milestones using a waterfall (MSP) based delivery methodology (drawing on agile principles where appropriate). Responsible for reporting, risk / issue management, planning, performance, supply chain management, finances and resourcing.

Key Accountabilities

Accountable for:

Delivery of the Business Systems Programme. Accountable for implementation of a new integrated Business Systems Platform (based on SAP S/4HANA but integrated to a range of other solutions such as EpicFlow for resource management and SAP SuccessFactors for supporting the hire to retire process), and migration from / decommissioning of legacy solutions. Accountable for implementing and handing over to the new /extended service model across Business Services / IT (deployment into BAU and continuous improvement) and jointly responsible for adoption of new ways of working with the Business Change Lead, Function Leads and Business Units.
Shaping the strategic delivery method in line with QinetiQ best practice
Programme level reporting, risk and issue management
Planning and scheduling of activities and resources at programme level
Programme delivery performance (metrics to be agreed)
Financial management (estimating and forecast, plus inclusion of actuals to update cost to complete / earned value in collaboration with finance)
resourcing (definition, recruitment (in collaboration with HR), onboarding and overall performance of delivery team)
Line management of project managers within the Business Systems Programme
Responsible for supply chain management

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

A senior programme manager with a positive and progressive mindset and the ability to drive delivery and its strategic direction. E.g. direction of delivery methods required for delivery and successful adoption of changed process, behaviours, tools, platforms and data exploitation using current best practice in agile business transformation
Programme management: Excellent knowledge of MSP and awareness of SAFe / Agile / DevOps / CI/CD methods for large and complex technology enabled business transformation programmes and service delivery;
Customer oriented: think like a business owner; deliver a digital change programme with our customers in mind focusing on 'Apple–like' user experience that is also secure;
Communications skills: excellent communications skills; ensuring two–way dialog and empathy to achieve group digital transformation objectives;
Stakeholder management: being able to identify and successfully engage key stakeholders as well as the target audience in group digital transformation activities.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of experience working at a similar level in a mixture of Commercial, Start–up, Scale–up and Regulated / Government environments;
Proven track in successful delivery of large scale technology and data enabled transformation programmes in global enterprises;
Proven track in building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders;
Degree educated in relevant subject;
Programme / Project Management experience and qualifications;
Relevant experience and qualifications with Enterprise Technologies with a particular focus on SAP S/4HANA across public and private cloud and awareness of other platforms including AWS, Microsoft 365.
