One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Planning Policy Interim. This is a temporary contract for 3 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.
Job Duties
* To play a major role in the Planning Policy Team in the preparation of the review of the Council's Local Plan, with an emphasis upon infrastructure related matters, including:
* Liaising with partners and stakeholders in respect of the development of the evidence base to support the local plan review.
* The commissioning and management of studies in accordance with the council's procurement procedures.
* Producing reports both for internal and external partners and stakeholders.
* Developing policies and options for inclusion as part of the local plan review.
* Preparing for and attendance at meetings as required.
* To liaise with the Planning Policy and Land Charges Team Manager and other Planning Policy Team members in relation to the Local Plan review and associated work.
* To use GIS, spreadsheets, databases, and other data collection tools to assimilate, maintain and analyse data in respect of matters which may affect the development of the district, including S106 Agreements.
* To advise members of the public, developers and their representatives, Parish and Councils, other Council officers and Councillors on planning policy matters by telephone, in writing or in person.
* To build and maintain successful internal and external partnerships and relationships communicating effectively both inside and outside the Council.
* To always see the service through the eyes of the customer and make suggestions for improvement where appropriate
* To constantly challenge self–performance and seek to find improvements
* To carry out duties efficiently and effectively
* To help build pride, passion, and reputation for NWLDC
* To ensure high standards of health and safety practice are maintained in accordance with council policy, including the health and safety and welfare at work of themselves and colleagues.
