Rapidly growing relatively small but ambitious technical engineering company designing and manufacturing complex systems for the aerospace and space markets are seeking X2 Project Managers on a contract basis for customer facing hands on end to end project engineering lead / project manager roles.

Customer facing technical Project Manager / Engineering role with a progressive company seeking energetic leaders to work in a fast paced and agile environment. You will be involved in small agile engineering projects co–ordinating with the customer, communicating what will be delivered, taking new projects and expediting the delivery of the project through engineering, procurement, production, factory test and ship out ensuring any special/bespoke design arrangements with the customers are honoured.
Essential Requirements of the Project Manager
* The successful Project manager will need to be a hands on Engineer at heart with good experience / degree educated in an engineering disciple (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, RF Engineering, Systems, Satellites, Space, Manufacturing/Production Engineering all ok).
* Candidates will need to be able to grasp new ideas and pick up the technical aspect of the product as they will need to speak the technical language with designers and customers.
* Able to organize agile technical activities on an end to end project either as a Project Engineer or a Project Manager working in a fast paced environment with short delivery times.
* Involved in smaller bespoke build projects that were small / medium size orders, eg small batch of projects with specific requirements built for a particular customer against a set of requirements. Ideally they will have worked in a low volume bespoke manufacturing environment
* The ideal candidate will generally have been leading team / projects focused on project delivery where they are involved at every step of the way.
Nice to Have Requirements of the Project Manager
* Experienced with the manufacturing process, factory testing etc would be ideal.
* Experience in a R+D environment with tight delivery schedules would be useful
* Taking projects from concept to completion
* Degree qualified Engineer is not essential – HNC/HND/Apprentice candidates moving out of engineering roles would be good
