This long established and successful privately owned, specialist engineering group manufactures and supplies high reliability precision assemblies and components to diverse market sectors including, Defence, Aerospace, Space, Scientific Instrumentation, Medical and Life Sciences.

With a wide range of technical expertise, the group is recognised as a leading manufacturer and provider of custom built electro–mechanical and high–vacuum sub systems, supported by an extensive range of standard components.

At this exciting stage of the company's development they now require a Head of Quality to assume overall responsibility for Quality across the group. This demanding but rewarding role would be best served by an astute Quality management professional who is a natural leader and motivator of people. The Head of Quality will provide leadership to direct reports to develop a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, improved customer satisfaction and added value.

Ideally coming from a manufacturing background, the Head of Quality will be responsible for leading and driving culture change and improvement in business performance to achieve all quality objectives.

The overall purpose of the role will be to;

* Represent the customer by holding the company to account via compliance to effective and well–documented management controls

* Set an example as Process Owner of the key quality system processes of Customer Feedback, Corrective Action, Document Control and Internal Audit.

* Provide clear quality leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills.

* Provide, publish across the company and explain Quality Key Performance Measures and require corrective action to close performance gaps.

* Promote lean business and continuous improvement across all quality related areas of the business.

* Maintain external accreditations and propose additions or alternatives.
