HR Director
This post has global responsibilities for directing the human resource strategy and its implementation across all Malaria Consortium's offices and programmes in Africa, Asia and the UK and to lead and develop human resource capacity globally.
You'll shape and embed a HR strategy to increase organisational effectiveness and deliver Malaria Consortium's objectives in an increasingly complex international environment. Working at a strategic and operational level the post holder will be a member of the Global Management Group (GMG) providing quality HR interventions and solutions and supporting the growth and development of the organisation.
HR Director Responsibilities:
* HR best practice, supported by an effective and concise KPI framework.
* Ensure the creation, communication and embedding of HR policies and processes which support the HR strategy and reflect Malaria Consortium's values.
* Review annual budgets and quarterly forecasts of human resources team and ensure timely submission to and approval by CE and FD.
* Manage the HR and UK staff development budgets, maintaining an accurate rolling forecast.
* Proactively identify HR related, organisational risk and advise on approaches to mitigate.
* Ensure compliance, understanding and application of local employment law in the countries within which Malaria Consortium operates, and establish and maintain a network of appropriate sources of legal advice.
* Acts as the Safeguarding lead and chair of the disciplinary committee for the organisation.
* Lead on employee relations issues, managing high profile cases and building organisational capacity to identify, pre–empt and manage situations.
* Review and maintain a compensation and benefits package which balances market competitiveness, affordability and organisational values.
* Enable the development and implementation of a proactive resourcing strategy to identify talent pipelines in areas of key organisational need.
* Oversees that L&D strategies are developed and implemented across the organisation to support current and future organisational needs.
* Lead and develop the HR team to create an effective cross–organisational function, capacity building and mentoring where appropriate.
HR Director Requirements:
Essential
* Educated to degree level.
* CIPD qualified to Chartered Member or equivalent experience.
* Proven significant experience of working as a Head of Department or Director level for an International Non–Governmental Organisation (INGO) of 400 plus employees.
* Work experience with INGO involved in health programmes development and implementation.
* Significant experience of working with employment laws and practices in countries where Malaria Consortium operates in Europe, Africa and Asia.
* Substantial experience of providing an HR service to a multi–site operation.
* Experience of working in networks and building strong working relationships.
* Proven ability of human resource planning.
* Experience of leading on Safeguarding implementation in a multi country organisation.
* Candidates must have the right to work in the UK be considered for this post.
* Willingness to travel at a short notice to insecure locations.
Desirable
* Direct work experience in Africa and/or Asia.
* Proficiency in French, Portuguese or Khmer.
* Knowledge of international health sector Human Resource management issues.
* Knowledge of Iris –Cascade, Networks and /or Totara.
