What you'll need to succeed: You will be a UK Qualified solicitor and possess a strong background in commercial legal work. Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including IP, manufacturing, R&D, regulatory and commercial elements.
The Legal Counsel will:
- Negotiate and draft cross-border supply agreements, logistics agreements, and distribution agreements.
- Negotiate and draft commercial contracts, including licensing, agreements
- Develop a thorough understanding of and familiarity with Theramex business, its people, skill lines, markets, facilities, customers, and competitors and use this knowledge in providing guidance and counsel.
- Facilitate the business objectives of Theramex by providing practical, timely and effective legal support, while minimizing potential legal risks
- Identify, monitor, research and resolve issues relating to commercial contracts liaising with external partners and internal staff as necessary to ensure that risk to the business is minimised.
- Maintain and manage internal controls, governance and processes relating to approval and signing of contracts
- From time to time, and depending on your experience, advise on complex matters and special projects e.g. product launches, litigation, regulatory or other strategic projects.
- Address general or ad-hoc commercial legal queries from business stakeholders.
- Help develop appropriate legal templates and processes. Actively work to align the legal objectives and business objectives collaboratively.
- Build and manage relationships with external stakeholders
- Assist with the know-how, professional development and training needs of the Legal team
- Law Degree, LL.M. or equivalent
- Qualified lawyer in a major jurisdiction. 2-5 year's post-qualification experience.
- Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including IP, manufacturing, R&D, regulatory and commercial elements
- Experience and knowledge of best practices relating to legal matters in the pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to grasp legal issues quickly, exhibit strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills, exercise sound judgment and provide practical and constructive legal advice
- Company secretarial and trademark experience also advantageous
- Fluent spoken and written English. Excellent drafting skills
