This role will be temporarily homebased due to COVID–19, then subsequently working from our Glasgow office.
The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our global finance team based in our Glasgow HQ. This is a newly created role to support the business through an anticipated period of growth. This role will work closely with the Finance Director and the current team, which has 6 members. It will involve the following:
- Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of accounts including foreign subsidiaries.
- Managing both the month end and year–end processes.
- Oversee the day–to–day finance operations.
- Ensure there are strong financial controls and systems in place.
- Work with the relevant external audit and tax contacts worldwide.
- Provide financial analysis and support as the company implements its growth strategy
- Developing and supporting the finance team
- Other ad hoc tasks to support the Finance Director
We are looking for an experienced management accountant or Financial Controller with the following skills and experience:
Essential Skills:
- A qualified accountant, though equivalent relevant industry experience will also be considered
- Strong technical accounting skills with meticulous attention to detail
- 5+ year's experience working in a similar or management accounting role
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent problem solving and communications skills
- Motivated, proactive, hard–working, reliable and well organised
- A proven track record of working as a team player
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with foreign subsidiaries and currencies.
The company uses sage 200, and salesforce. Although experience of them would be helpful, it is not necessary.
