Marks Sattin are currently working with a very acquisitive group who are looking to hire a Financial Controller to join the team based ut of Doncaster. In terms of this role, they are looking for a technical accountant who is comfortable working in a fast paced ever evolving organisation, who can help to develop and improve the existing finance team. They have a 5 year plan to double the size of the business via organic growth but mainly via acquisition, this opens the door for a lot of opportunities for you within the business. It's a great opportunity to get into a fast paced, growing organisation with a lot of opportunities to move into. The future opportunities would be within group, group are complete remote working and can hire people across the UK. This role would see you WFH 3 days per week with 2 days being spent on site.

Responsibilities;
- Support the integrity of the financial control environment including assessing the effectiveness of accounting systems, controls, records and monitoring mechanisms
- Identify control failings, weaknesses, breaches, near misses, errors and omissions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Business Standards and Policies for areas of responsibility
- Ensure adherence with Group accounting policies
- Lead role in handling the relationship with the external auditors
- Review monthly financial results, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasts
- Process improvement and streamlining of monthly tasks
- Support Business Area Management Accountants ensuring adherence with Accounting Policies
- Create and standardise monthly suite of balance sheet reconciliations and establish and maintain a control framework
- Ensure all financial reporting is compliant with the relevant accounting standards
- Liaison with Group central functions such as Tax, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Completion of Financial sections of the Regulatory Reporting returns
Skills;
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA)
- IFRS Knowledge
- Effective communication skills, written and oral
