Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be working retained with a market leading manufacturing business in Lincoln to find their next Operations Director.
The business, that has been established and successful for many years, is experiencing record demands and is seeking an ambitious and engaging Director to lead the full operations function, which consists of 150 full time employees and supporting sales of cGBP45m per annum.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Director will play a critical role leading all production, warehousing, quality, maintenance, and other associated departments.
You will be an active member of the Board of Directors contributing to the strategic direction of the business and critical decisions. With plans for a GBP2m investment later in the year the Operations Director will be responsible for the management and successful delivery.
The Operations Directors duties and responsibilities will include:
*Ensure that the production facilities, stores, and other areas of site operate in accordance with statutory and company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
*Creation, development and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.
*Lead the production workforce and develop a high performing, well trained and motivated production team.
*Control of the manufacturing systems, including programming, processes, supervision, and planning that ensures optimum stock availability.
*Record, monitor, report, and control production KPI's, ensuring adoption of continuous improvement techniques in line with the company values.
*Create, present, and implement change that produces significant EBITDA improvements.
*Work as part of the Quality team to enhance, products, systems, equipment, and people to ensure product Quality improvements that improve the overall customer experience.
*Develop the business case for future investment and oversee implementation projects.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
*Degree educated, or equivalent, in engineering or manufacturing related discipline
*Formal H&S qualification would be highly desirable.
*Proven experience in leading a manufacturing facility of 100+ FTEs.
*An engaging leader who is well versed with change management.
*Excellent communication skills, able to establish and maintain effective and credible working relationships internally and externally at all levels.
*Exceptional commercial awareness and understanding of financials and sales.
*Experience with the manufacture of electro–mechanical products or sheet metal manufacturing is highly desirable.
*Excellent man management skills and ability to motivate and inspire the Operations management teams and workforce.
*Must be able to demonstrate the tenacity to maintain drive and motivation in the face of challenges with the ability to work calmly under pressure.
