Commercial Litigation Professional Support Lawyer - 2+ PQE - national firm - Birmingham
Commercial Litigation Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) required for the Birmingham office of leading national firm. An exciting opportunity for an existing PSL or otherwise a litigation lawyer with a minimum of two years' fee earning experience, looking to move into a PSL role. A competitive salary and agile working policy. The position is full time/part time basis.
This is a rare opportunity to move into a professional support role in Birmingham. There are an increasing number of qualified senior lawyers opting to take this career path, particularly since the remit of PSL roles has evolved to become increasingly multi-faceted and strategic.
The obvious benefit is the lifestyle piece; the hours are more predictable than fee-earning, as the work is less client-led. There is also no requirement to time record or work to fee earning or hours based targets. The Role:
The successful Commercial Litigation PSL will:
· Plan, facilitate and deliver training to fee earners assisting in the delivery of a national training programme for the litigation team.
· Handle enquiries from teams and manage on-going team training and development.
· Conduct research on key or new areas of law to support the litigation team producing relevant know how documents.
· Participate in technological innovation projects and precedent maintenance.
· Maintain and update the team's risk management policies and protocols and assist with the development of the team's case management system for its lease renewal caseload.
· Write articles on suitable topics for publication.
· Assist the team's legal advisors in preparing client-facing training sessions.
About You:
The successful Commercial Litigation PSL will:
· Be a commercial litigation lawyer with a minimum of two years' PQE (no previous PSL experience required).
· Be commercially focused and able to think strategically.
· Enjoy legal research and black letter law.
· Have excellent technical skills.
· Be confident in drafting know-how and conducting legal research.
· Enjoy training, mentoring and business development.
· Possess excellent interpersonal skills and good people management ability.
